THE NEW YORK YOUNG REPUBLICAN CLUB, INC. CONGRATULATES PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH ON HIS CHOICE FOR CIA DIRECTOR

The New York Young Republicans Club extends its congratulations to President George W. Bush for nominating Rep. Porter J. Goss as CIA director. Mr. Goss, the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has many allies within the agency as well as years of invaluable frontline experience as a former CIA covert officer. As Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Goss has expressed the need for the CIA to sharpen its edge, to become more aggressive, to evolve so it can properly confront the enemies of the 21st Century. His nomination comes at a time in our country's history when such qualifications could not be more important.

While some leading Democrats like Sen. Jay Rockefeller have criticized President Bush's choice for America's spy chief, The New York Young Republican Club calls on the Democratic Party to put politics aside and ensure Mr. Goss the swift confirmation he truly deserves.

The New York Young Republican Club, Inc. is a not-for-profit political organization that exists to bring Republicans aged 18-40 together to discuss the Republican Party platform and aid the Republican Party in the education of the public about the Republican agenda and the promotion of Republican candidates for office.
